Graduating Class Gift Program Introduction

The purpose of a Graduating Class Gift/Pledge Program is to establish for graduating students the habit of giving to their soon-to-be alma mater.  The key to a successful program is enlisting student leadership.  The first big step in a graduating class gift program therefore must be to work with administrators and teachers to recruit likely student Co-Chairs for the Class of 20XX Gift Committee.  Request nominations from administrators, teachers, and the enlisted Co-Chairs to identify student leaders for the Class Gift Committee.   The first chore for the Co-Chairs is to recruit committee members.  The committee should be about 5 to10% the number of the total graduating class population.  I encourage Co-Chairs to try to get representation from different student groups.  For example, at a law school this entails getting a representative from the Student Bar Association,  The Black Law Student Association and the Latino Law Student Association.

Please go to the first assignment for completion.  The timeline template in the next module will guide you and your Co-Chairs through your next steps.
